Toxin Free Living: More Than A Lifestyle, A Solution

Be Toxin Free! A message we certainly take to heart - a message that represents the foundation and mission of our company. Fundamentally, it is a message of responsibility.

Steve Jobs once said, “If you define the problem correctly, you almost have the solution.”

We could not agree more, being able to accurately define the problem is the very first step in

solving it.

First, let’s take a moment and attempt to define what the problem could possibly be.

What is a Toxin?

The term toxin refers to a harmful substance produced by a living organism, such as a microorganism, a plant, or an animal. Toxins are often referred to as or have been associated with contaminants, pollutants, chemicals, pesticides, and heavy metals, just to name a few.

Types of Toxins

Toxins fall into two major categories; environmental toxins which are present in the air, water, food, etc., and toxins which are produced inside our bodies as a result of imbalances in our metabolism.

In truth, toxins are all around us. There are literally thousands of chemicals in our environment, food supply, cleaning products, beauty and personal care products.

Did You Know?

- We absorb up to 60% of what we put on our skin.

- Children absorb 40% - 50% more than adults.

- It takes less than a minute for most chemicals to enter the bloodstream after skin contact.

Normally, the immune system, liver and kidneys work together to remove toxins at the same rate as they are encountered. When toxin levels are in excess of our body’s capacity to remove them, they build up and are stored until they are removed. We can have toxins stored in our bodies for years without experiencing any negative symptoms, but once the burden of toxins becomes too high, we have reached what we will define as THE PROBLEM: TOXICITY.

Toxins in Skincare

Toxins in skincare and cosmetics are especially dangerous because they are ingested and/or absorbed. The Breast Cancer Fund even found "A number of ingredients used in cosmetics and personal care products have been shown in animal studies to disrupt hormonal systems, contribute to early puberty and lead to altered breast development". Ingredients in these products can be carcinogens (cancer causing) and endocrine disrupting.

What can you do?

When choosing skincare and cosmetics, be wary of products that contain metal powders, AHA acids, fragrances, and parabens. There are many ingredients that are toxic. To learn about your specific products, check Skin Deep by EWG to see how many toxins they contain. If you need new skincare products, our products are toxin-free and safe to use. We offer products for every skin type and cancer warriors.
